The Origins of Lydia Fellowship
Founded in England in 1970 by Shelagh McAlpine, Lydia Fellowship International commenced with a few women meeting together in the home.
The roots of the ministry were established during the 1960's in Auckland and born out of a season of committed prayer with fasting for revival in the Church and nation of New Zealand, firstly with her husband Campbell and then with prayer-partner Joy Dawson.
The vision of Lydia was birthed as a result of Shelagh reading and meditating prayerfully on Acts Ch 16 verses 13 - 15

Today Lydia is a thriving network of women's prayer groups, women who are committed to pray at least once a month as the Holy Spirit guides them
